Who runs this site
EducateLink (educatelink.com) is an independent engineering and education website based in Australia. If you have a question about this policy or your information, please get in touch through the contact page.
What information is collected
- Comments. If you leave a comment, the site stores your name, email address, any website you enter, your comment, your IP address and your browser user agent. The IP address and user agent help with spam detection. Your email address is never shown publicly.
- Contact form. If you send a message, the site collects your name, email address and message so that I can reply.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address and subscription preferences are stored with the email service Omnisend, along with basic information about whether emails are opened. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Analytics. The site may use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use it, such as which pages are read, how long for, the type of device and an approximate location. This information is not used to identify you personally.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses cookies to remember your details if you choose that option when commenting, to keep administrators logged in, for analytics, and for advertising as described below. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some features may not work as expected.

Personal information is only shared with the service providers needed to run this site: web hosting (Hostinger), Google (analytics and advertising) and Omnisend (newsletter). Some of these providers store data outside Australia. Your personal information is never sold.
How long information is kept
- Comments and their details are kept for as long as the comment stays on the site.
- Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up.
- Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information held about you, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted, through the contact page. This does not include information that must be kept for security or legal reasons.
Children
This site is written for engineers, students and professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
